• How do we make your creations ?
We use exactly the same methods and materials a roofer would use to make a roof. Therefore the life expectancy of our Creations are the same as a roof - 50 years plus.
Creations start with deciding on a concept that suits the customers requirements. Once the design is finalised, how it is to be contructed, transported, installed, and how the iron will be laid to create the final impression, is all worked out. Only then does the cutting, filing, bending and riveting of the corrugated iron begin. All is assembled onto a custom-made frame before being coloured with the best-quality house paints we can buy. |

The limit is the imagination.
First, we take into into account the requirements of the customer. Are they wanting to attract customers, decorate an entranceway or garden, or create a landmark? Do they want it fun and funky? Bright and colourful? Or artistic and blending? Once the design has been decided, how will it be placed? Does it need to fit onto or around other structures? What will the wind-loading be? How will it be fixed? How will it be transported? Will it be exposed to the public or small children? Is the design safe and can construction be secure enough to withstand vandalism? How will the iron flow or be layered to create the effects wanted? Once decided, construction begins. |
Steven and Russell cut the new corrugated zincalume with a roofer's tool called a nibbler. Basically a high-speed punch, this cuts the iron with no heat - therefore not destroying the galvanizing properties and causing the iron to rust.
Flat pieces made of different layers are cut so the iron runs in contrasting directions. Steven's ability to visualise this is what makes the finished pieces come alive when light plays on the finished product. Twisted, glued, primed, drilled and riveted together - the Creation is built up. Steven using his knowledge to maximise durability, minimise hazards and create the effects that make his creations unique. Then finally, colour is applied with the best acrylic roofing paints, layering and outlining for the best effects. |
Transporting large items and unusual shapes can be tricky so we also offer a delivery service and installation service.
For outsourced long haul transport we can build a sturdy crate or smaller pieces can be couriered. 4 • How to take care of your creationWe make our Creations to endure the worst mother nature can throw at it.
A Chemwash, car wash or sugar soap occasionally with a soft brush will keep the colours bright and clean and large signs should be checked to ensure anchorage points to have not weakened with time. |
